Recording of a Vision Boarding session with Dr Jo Watkins and Tanya Lynch from Ease Retreats

Five years ago, on the 9th January 2020 I did my first ever Vision Board. Last year we ran this workshop.

Just like many Medics and Healthcare professionals, I felt like any creative gene was removed from me aged 15 years old and wasn't sure what this process was going to look like but it really helped others do the same and I thought it would be lovely to share with you to help you plan your 2025.

*for any reference of 2024 then just substitute 2025!

Vision Boarding? Really? Yup.

With a few rolled eyes and raised eye brows from my family, I went off to my favourite library in Canada wondering what kind of woo woo nonsense I had signed myself up for.

I left 2 hours later with a creative piece that I was so proud of and that I have kept and repeated every 6 months and now absolutely LOVE sharing with others.

At the time of making my initial vision board:
(pictured front, bottom with business future on the left and life/family on the right)

We had no website.
We did not have an online course.
Covid had not cancelled all our live events.
We had not connected with experts and collaborated with others.
We did not have anything you could subscribe to.
We were not really inspiring anyone.

At the time of making the one I made last year (top left)

I had not moved forward with an idea to help Medics start their side hustles.
I did not have a course to sign people to an App with a programme recorded on it.
I had not linked by business passions and medicine.
I had not built a community.
I had not hired a personal Virtual Assistant.
I had not started a programme to help other medics pursue their passion.

You can overestimate what you can do in 1 year but you underestimate what you can do in 5 years, don't they say?

If you are a Medics or Healthcare professional navigating a journey outside of your day job and in need of some inspiration, then feel free to watch this workshop from last year when Tanya Lynch from Ease Retreats ran a Vision Boarding workshop for my audience.

We suggest this will take about an hour and you will need a big piece of card or paper (two A4 stuck together works well) and a pile of magazines, papers, leaflets or anything at all with written material and pictures on it that you are allowed to cut up!)

Glue and scissors plus you might want to annotate it with a felt tip pen and Tanya will be giving us journalling prompts as we work through.

Then you just need an open mind, a bit of space and a sense of adventure.

PS. On making the first vision board 5 years ago I had also not turned 50 and my friends had not created a big photo album for me. But last week they gave it to me and this was the photo on the back cover...

Can you spot it on the Vision Board?
