Most people don’t struggle because they have nothing valuable to say.

They struggle because visibility feels uncomfortable.

Because their nervous system kicks in.
Because they overthink.
Because they ramble.
Because they freeze.
Because they worry about sounding awkward, salesy, performative or just too much.

That’s incredibly normal.

Especially for medics as we venture into showing up as ourselves, navigating identity shifts and learning how to generate our own opportunities.

Whether you’re speaking on podcasts, running webinars, introducing yourself at networking events, recording videos, teaching, leading teams or simply trying to communicate more confidently online, this session is designed to help you feel calmer, clearer and more authentic when speaking in public.

This is not about becoming a polished motivational speaker.

It’s about learning how to communicate in a way that genuinely feels like you.

What We Explored

During this practical and interactive 75-minute session, we’ll explore:

âś” Voice, presence and preparation
âś” Why visibility can feel uncomfortable
âś” Understanding the nervous system response to speaking
✔ Managing nerves without “performing confidence”
âś” Communicating with greater clarity and authenticity
âś” Practical tools you can immediately apply to podcasts, presentations, social media, workshops and leadership conversations

Meet Matthew Matheson

Matthew Matheson is a speaking coach who helps people communicate with greater confidence, presence and authenticity.

His work focuses on helping people speak naturally and effectively without sounding scripted, overly polished or disconnected from themselves.

Rather than teaching “performance,” Matt helps people develop genuine confidence, practical speaking skills and stronger audience connection.

This session combines practical speaking expertise with real-world tools people can actually use immediately.

Joining Matt was Beth Derry, founder of Lovely Messy Humans

Beth is a nervous system literacy educator and Havening Techniques® practitioner whose work explores how the nervous system shapes our confidence, communication, relationships and ability to step into visibility.

Alongside her own coaching and training work, Beth co-facilitates Matt’s Public Speaking Intensive, helping participants understand and work with the biological responses that can hold people back from sharing their voice and leading with authenticity.

Together, Matt and Beth bring a rare and powerful combination of practical communication skills alongside deeper nervous system awareness.

Because sometimes the challenge isn’t what to say.

It’s understanding what happens internally when we try to say it.

Over the last few years, Jo has helped hundreds of people step into greater visibility through podcasts, webinars, networking, social media, teaching and public speaking.

Again and again, she sees that the people with the most valuable ideas are often the ones most afraid to speak up.

This Masterclass was created to help change that.
